Chef Chuck Kerber, who owns the Pittsburgh Hot Plate website and blog, wanted a redesign of his website using WordPress and a customized theme specifically designed for him. He wanted more room for both recipes and restaurant reviews, a featured gallery slide show capable of connecting to individual posts, a way for readers to sign up via email for his posts, social networking so that his many followers could interact with his site via Facebook and Twitter, a redo of the harsh red background color, integration of the Pittsburgh skyline into his header image since his geo-targeted audience is the greater Pittsburgh area, all SEO (search engine optimization), and advanced tutoring so that he could code his own posts in xhtml while also properly naming his images in the most SEO-friendly manner. Whew, a tall order!
He got everything he wanted, and more. In fact, when he paid his final bill, he commented to the effect that this was one bill he didn’t mind paying, as he feels the redesign and the knowledge he’d gained are invaluable for the growth and future success of his website. Thank you, Chef Chuck — It was a pleasure working with you!
The OrlandoFest music festival website, built in conjunction with Universal Studios and their Universal Orlando® Resort, promotes a top-of-the-line music festival and performing arts festival for high school and middle school students throughout the United States. The client loves their new WordPress website, which is also fully integrated with social networking functions such as Facebook and Twitter. With the new, feature-rich website in place, many festival performances for 2011 are already sold out, although the site has only been live for about a month, as of this writing. Let us create an online business presence for you which attracts visitors and results in sales!
The original OrlandoFest website was hastily built in FrontPage, as a place marker until we were hired as the website developer. (Microsoft no longer supports FrontPage, which is antiquated as a content management system (CMS). The site lacked all features (and navigation), including registration forms, maps and all other details about the music festival.
With over 30 stores nationwide, Classic Party Rentals wanted to modernize the look and feel of their company blog, where events such as weddings, Hollywood soirees and other festivities from the Hamptons to Pebble Beach are featured. This customized theme we created did the trick, and Classic Party Rentals got just what they envisioned.
Straight A Tours (see below) was so pleased with their transformed website that they asked us to do another: Festivals at Sea. This student travel agency website is run by a consortium of travel industry leaders. The tropical color scheme added just the right touch.
Straight A Tours is a well-known Orlando, FL travel agency; in fact, it’s the largest travel agency in the country specializing in student travel such as senior class trips, Caribbean cruises and music festivals. The client was so pleased and apparently overwhelmed by the new version of the website — when he first saw it on a cell phone while traveling in New York City — that he cried. This WordPress install is also fully integrated with social networking functions such as Facebook and Twitter, and visitors have the opportunity to speak live with one of the helpful staff members.
Now you can see why the client cried tears of joy when he saw the new WordPress website. This screenshot shows the site as it originally appeared. Tiny, huh? That’s it, folks. The design was antiquated and navigation wasn’t functional. It also lacked all SEO and all social networking features. Out with the old and in with the new!
Our client, Tom, a lover of all things fishing, needed a makeover for his ecommerce store. This attractive layout and design, coupled with a WordPress ecommerce shopping cart, provided just the right vehicle — in combination with our SEO efforts — to get the word out about his wide selection of saltwater fishing tackle. With our tutoring, Tom quickly learned the ins and out of populating his attractive website with merchandise. You can see the original site (no longer live) in a screenshot below.
Tom’s original site, Blue Collar Fishing, was lackluster and difficult for customers to navigate. Hosting costs for the proprietary shopping cart platform he was using were also higher than the cost of self-hosting in combination with WordPress and an ecommerce shopping cart. Let us show you how we can redo your website and bring new life to it!
Anthony Contona is an artist by nature and a landscape mason by trade. Combining his brick masonry and stone masonry skills with his landscaping knowledge, he creates things of beauty out of the ordinary: patios, poolscapes, walkways, and retaining walls. Even the lowly driveway and porch stoop become handsome when Anthony builds them. Take a look at the poolscapes, for example, in his portfolio and you’ll see what we mean. Anthony works in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island. Visit his website at Long Island Landscape Mason. Lucky Long Islanders!
This Orlando, FL building contractor came to us because he noticed that, everywhere he looked on the Internet for Orlando businesses, Prestige Electric — a client of ours whose website we built and SEO”d (see below) — was there. He’s pleased with his site appearance and its performance. We think highly of this client — if you ever need a building contractor or general contractor in Central Florida and/or the metro Orlando area, Wes Stapp is your man!
The ladies at Shelbie Press love color, and that’s just what they got in this sleek website which is optimized for search engines. In fact, they got their first calls and first job from their new website before it was even finished! The owners said the new site is “better than getting a new car.” In an email, they wrote: “Thrilled!!!!!!!!!! beyond words Thank you, Debbie & Michelle”
Reid Fukumoto, a Liberty Mutual Insurance agent in Hawaii, wanted a website makeover for Hawaii Insurance Online. His site was geo-targeted to younger homeowners and car owners in the suburbs of Honolulu, Hawaii such as Pearl City and Aiea. His newest activities include a social networking campaign and blogging on his new website.
When I started to update my website, it was a nightmare until I met Cathy of Pajamadeen.
Cathy’s expertise at search engine optimization and marketing has changed the value of our website. I have been continually happy with prompt, professional service. I especially appreciate her valuable feedback and guidance on the design of our site based on her knowledge and expertise. Within a short period of time, we have already generated enough sales to offset the cost of our site development.
Connie Young, Vice President — Prestige Electric — Orlando, Florida
Sheryl Checkman, a graphic artist, deep sea diver and photographer, wanted a fresh look for her Life is Balance website, where she sells unique dive art and yoga t-shirts as well as gifts, including prints of her underwater photography. The clean design of this WordPress theme gives her plenty of room to blog about her many interests, as well as space to sell her wearable art.
Virobiotics wanted a complete website makeover, with inclusion of a PayPal shopping cart for clients to order their product, MolluscumRx (an all-natural, herbal treatment for a skin condition known as Molluscum contagiosum). We completely redid the website from top to bottom, including graphics and SEO. Another happy referral client from Orlando, FL. We’re not happy until the client is happy.

The theme is also used by such publishing luminaries as CNN, People Magazine and The New York Times. When you want the best, the Revolution theme is hard to overlook.

Haley’s Giggle is a Washington, DC-based WordPress blog chronicling the life of a little girl with a rare disease — CAMT, or Congenital Amegakaryocytic Thrombocytopenia. It’s the only blog dealing with this condition from a lay person’s standpoint. Doctors treating Haley use the blog as reference material to see how she’s progressing on a day-to-day basis. Haley loves puppies, heart-shaped balloons and crayons and her mother wanted this WordPress blog to have a childlike, simple yet sophisticated quality to it.
Judging from blog comments, readers love the new design. Liora Greenberg wrote: “I have to tell you how much I love the new website! It’s perfect!” Dana Little Jackson commented: “I just LOVE the new website!!! It’s adorable, just like Haley.” Anne wrote: “This website is better than ever!!! Just like our Haley!!!!”

As sometimes happens, Austin, TX author and radio commentator Ruth Pennebaker outgrew the limited functionality of her WordPress-hosted website; we redid her website in the Fall of 2009.
