Michael Jackson’s death certificate was filed today with the Department of Health Services in Los Angeles. It’s signed by Los Angeles County deputy coroner Cheryl MacWillie, and lists the cause of death as “deferred.” You can see a copy of the death certificate here.
While Jackson was embalmed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, the cemetery was listed on the death certificate as only a “temporary” location. Jackson’s body was not returned to Forest Lawn after today’s memorial service at the Staples Center. So where is the King of Pop? On his way to a crematorium? Or perhaps the family is waiting for the return of Jackson’s brain prior to burial. It was removed during the initial autopsy and sent for toxicology tests. Maybe the family still hopes to bury Jackson at his Neverland Ranch, if the proper permits can be obtained. Nothing ever seems to have gone smoothly in the singer’s life…or death.
La Toya Jackson is listed as the informant for Jackson’s death certificate. His race is listed as black, with the King of Pop’s occupation listed as musician and the type of business listed as entertainment. Jackson’s residence was not listed as 100 North Carolwood Drive in Holmby Hills where he died in a rented home but, rather, the Jackson family compound on Hayvenhurst Ave. in Encino.
When last seen after today’s Staples Center service, the Jacksons were eating lunch at the Beverly Wiltshire Hotel.
