Sexual Predator Hired as Babysitter on Craigslist Remains Free
December 6, 2008

Sexual predator Aaron Jay Lemon, 23, of Little Canada, Minnesota, answered a St. Paul, Minnesota couple’s Craiglist Internet ad in August 2007. They were seeking a babysitter for their two-year-old daughter. They got Aaron instead. While they were out, Lemon made a pornographic video featuring the toddler. Last Wednesday, in a plea deal, Lemon pled guilty before U.S. District Judge David Doty in federal court in Minneapolis to producing the video and to coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct. Amazingly, Lemon remains free on bond, with no sentencing date set.
Lemon was charged with the incident on August 5 and released on $25,000 bond. He faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune reports that “A phone number listed for the apartment he shared with his mother in Little Canada has been disconnected.” Calls to Lemon’s attorney, John Fossum of Northfield, MN, went unreturned. Does no one in Minneapolis-St. Paul find it upsetting that a convicted sexual predator remains free on bond while facing a 30-year prison sentence? Pajamadeen has $20 that says Lemon is long gone. (Hint: This is known as a “sucket bet.”) Maybe Minnesotans are still recovering from the death of area resident Katherine Ann Olson, 24, who was murdered in October 2007 after answering a Craigslist ad for a babysitter. Or, maybe their brains are frozen.
